Welcome!
I am a Doctor of Occupational Therapy Student at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. I grew up in Canton, Michigan where I was actively involved in competitive dance for fourteen years. From 2016 to 2020, I attended Michigan State University. I graduated, with honors, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a focus in motor neuroscience. During my four years of undergraduate studies, I was also a member, captain, and President of MSU Elite Competitive Dance Team. I was always drawn to working with children with disabilities, starting with being accepted into an inclusive home economics class in high school. From there, I was an in-home care provider for a young boy with Autism during my time at Michigan State. I have also taught dance to children three to eighteen years old for seven years now. Currently, I teach at Just Off Broadway in Cincinnati, OH.
Occupational therapy perfectly combines my passion for creativity, physical activity, and flexibility derived from dance, in addition to wanting to help people live their lives to the fullest. My love for this profession has only been strengthened throughout OT school. I cannot wait to continue my journey to become the best occupational therapist I can be.

My e-portfolio outlines my career goals during OT school, 1-year post-grad, and 5-years post-grad within my professional development plan. My capstone project is also highlighted and explained. The purpose of this e-portfolio is to illustrate my OT school journey, including my doctoral capstone, and future career goals/aspirations.

Vision Statement
Currently, my intended focus area remains in the pediatric settings; however, I am blown away by all the different avenues an occupational therapist can take. I am keeping an open mind throughout OT school and wanting to explore vastly different potential populations and settings. Following graduation from OT school, I see myself working in a faster pace setting, such as a NICU, acute care hospital, or a neurology unit. After settling down with a family, I envision changing to school-based practices to be able to raise my children. I have hopes of becoming an adjunct faculty member one day, enabling me to teach future occupational therapists and share my passions for the profession. I am also interested in program development, which will require research to be conducted to demonstrate effectiveness.
Self-Assessment
After taking the Clifton Strength’s Test by GALLUP, my top five themes resulted in achiever, learner, discipline, relator, and maximizer. Exploring these strengths further detailed, dedicating myself to acquiring knowledge and gaining skills, routinely recharging physically and mentally, and establishing a reputation of being a hard worker. According to my strengths, I have tendencies to push people to excel, rather than settling. I finish assignments well ahead of schedule and formulate a repeatable routine to complete various tasks. Through planning, I am able to handle my workload and various responsibilities, meet deadlines, and optimize productivity throughout my days. My relator qualities suggest I am comfortable being open with myself and to others and I tend to gravitate towards individuals who do the same. I openly acknowledge mistakes and shortcomings, which can distinguish me from others. I choose to focus on people’s strengths and use these strengths to achieve full potential.
